Police identified the victim as 32-year old Melul Simbahon, a marketing manager at Kyla’s Bistro. She was from Sampagar, Damulog in  Bukidnon.

Senior Insp. Joel Salabante Lee of the local crime laboratory said the woman had three wounds on the chest, neck and back.

Police also found a 12-inch knife in the room.

Officers Brian Pasco and PO1 Ben Michael Reviro said Simbahon’s half sister Nelfa Raba sought the help of the police in June 7 because Simbahon went missing.

The search led the police to the neighborhood where residents complained of a foul odor coming from the house Simbahon and her partner Jeffrey Ravidas rented a room.

Officers searched the house and were led to the room where Simbahon’s body was subsequently found.

Police said the body was wrapped with a bed sheet with a mattress on top of it.

A 19-year old said Simbahon and Ravidas were last heard arguing.

A CCTV revording reportedly showed Ravidas leaving the area with a child.
