CAGAYAN DE ORO — A police offi cer is tagged  as the prime suspect in the killing of an army Police tag as suspect in shooting of army sergeant in Bukidnon sergeant in Bukidnon last week, the regional police command said Tuesday.

P/Supt. Gervacio O. Balmaceda, Jr., spokesperson of the regional police command here, said that the witnesses have identified PO1 Reynaldo Namoco as a suspect in the shooting to death of a certain Sgt. Honesto Fuentes.

Balmaceda said that Fuentes, of the army’s Special Force based in Monolo Fortich, died of several gunshot wounds in various parts of his body from an unknown gun caliber in Damilag, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon Monday last week. Three witnesses have pointed to Namoco, presently assigned at the Regional Public Safety Battalion 10, who was undergoing SWAT Training at Special Training Unit (STU), in Damilag, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon at the time of the shooting.

P/Chief Supt. Lyndel A. Desquitado, the PNP regional director, has ordered Namoco disarmed and the fi ling of murder and administrative charges against him, Balmaceda said. He said that Namoco is now restricted at the Special Training Unit in the regional headquarters of the PNP’s Regional Public Safety Battalion 10 here. Desquitado has assured the public that the PNP regional command under his watch will not tolerate alleged involvement of police personnel in crimes. He said that the PNP regional command will see to it that the victims of Fuentes would get justice through an impartial investigation of the shooting.
