THE resolution declaring a portion of Zone 5, Barangay Kauswagan as a calamity area due to fire that occurred on Jan. 13 has been approved by the 18th City Council during its recent regular session.
Based on the Disaster Report submitted by the City Social Welfare and Development Department and the Fire Incident Certification issued by the Office of the District Fire Marshal, a house was totally damaged by the fire.
The CSWD extended food and material assistance to the affected victim. Financial assistance in the total amount of P15,000 was also recommended.
The resolution was endorsed by the committees on barangay affairs and on laws and rules chaired by Councilors Yan Lam Lim and Ian Mark Nacaya, respectively. (cli)
