BUTUAN City — Bombo Radyo Philippines, through its national news director Elmar Acol and Cagayan de Oro news anchor Jun Ocat, yesterday said it is standing by its news story that the military has been monitoring Vice President Leni Robredo, Senators Antonio Trillanes IV and Leila de Lima.

In a news article published by The Philippine Star yesterday, Armed Forces (AFP) spokesman Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla denied having told Bombo Radyo in an interview that they have been monitoring political personalities deemed against President Rodrigo Duterte.

Bombo Radyo has posted the news report on their interview with Padilla on Sunday at www.bombo-radyo.com.

“We are standing by our news story and we are just telling the truth,” Acol said in a text message.

Acol said they based their news story on a live interview of Padilla with its Cagayan de Oro station on Sunday.

Klaro naman sa transcript sa news story namin at saka sa voice clippings record namin during (the) interview with Bombo Radyo Cagayan de Oro last Sunday yung sinabi lahat ni Brig Gen. Padilla,” Acol added.

Bombo Radyo’s early morning news report Acol and Ocat through its live broadcast news at 7 am yesterday morning aired simultaneously in all its radio stations nationwide stood by its report.

Gayong tinanggi ito ni Padilla mismo,” Acol said in his live news cast yesterday.

After the statement, Acol and Ocat played the audio clip on its Sunday interview with Padilla.

Here’s the transcript of the radio interview with Brig Gen Padilla:
