ILIGAN Mayor Celso Regencia has asked Philippine National Police Chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa for more high-power firearms during the latter’s recent visit here.
Regencia said his city needs additional firearms because of the threat of the Maute Group.
He also asked newly installed Police Regional Director Chief Supt. Timoteo Pacleb additional police officers for Iligan City.
This, he said, is in preparation in case there will be a spill over of terrorist activities of the Maute Group in neighboring Marawi City.
Regencia said the additional police personnel he is asking will serve as an additional security measure for the city.
