DIGOS City — Relatives of the missing 14-year-old grade 7 student found her decomposing body inside an abandoned livestock lot at around 7:30 am on Saturday.
Barbie (real name withheld) was reported missing last Thursday night after she failed to get home from school where parents and relatives launched an intensive search last Friday but nobody could tell them the teen’s whereabouts.
On Saturday, Barbie’s uncle Rolly Batuto tried to trace a pathway near the already grassy abandoned livestock farm she and other students use as shortcut to their village.
Rolly said he, along with four other companions, noticed a foul odor coming from the nearby abandoned lot. Upon verification they found the lifeless body of the victim lying on the grass.
Barbie’s underwear was found hanging on the brushes just few meters from the her body.
The body was brought to a funeral parlor for autopsy and final analysis on the cause of death of the victim.
Senior Insp. Gil Arobo, Digos police chief investigator said they already have persons of interest in mind.
