THE man caught allegedly using shabu in a Carmen inn on Thursday morning used to be a member of the city hall band who lost his job early this year because of his alleged drug problems.

In a statement, city hall said the suspect, Jesrael Mark Bombeo, “is no longer connected with the city government of Cagayan de Oro.”

Maricel Rivera, city hall spokesperson, said records from the Human Resource Management Office of the local government, show that Bombeo used to hold the position of Administrative Aide 1 under “job-order” status.

She said the suspect used to be with the city hall band which is under the Office of the City Mayor.

Rivera said Bombeo’s contract with city hall ended in March, this year, and he was no longer re-hired.

She said Bombeo’s arrest on Thursday was the second — he was arrested for the same offense when he was still working at city hall.

Bombeo, according to Rivera, bailed out after his first arrest.

“After that, he wasn’t endorsed for re-hiring anymore,” Rivera said.

She said Bombeo didn’t surrender his city hall ID, the reason why he was mistaken to be a city hall worker.

The 29-year old Bombeo of Makahambus and Burgos streets was arrested while he was allegedly in the act of using suspected shabu in an inn on Vamenta St. in Carmen the other day. He allegedly yielded three sachets of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia. (hg)
