Police investigator SPO2 Marvin Bolaño identified the victims as Philip Homorito, 50, a resident of Barangay 31, this city.

Bolaño cited witnesses as saying that Homorito was resting in his trisikad after plying his route in Barangay 36 when an unidentified person walked towards him and suddenly stabbed the victim. Bolaño said Homorito had no criminal record with the Cogon Police Station.

Authorities are eyeing robbering as the motive of the killing because the high-end cellphone that Homorito supposedly owned was missing after the stabbing incident.

According to Barangay 31 chairman Diosdado Wabe, Homorito has no known enemies in their neighborhood.

Wabe also believed that the likely motive of the killing was robbery.

Homorito’s remains have been sent to Bollozos Funeral Homes while the Cogon Police launch a murder investigation on the victim’s death.

Scene of the Crime Operatives-10 medico legal Dr. Christian Caballes said Homorito succumbed to two stab wounds to his torso and punctured the victim’s heart.
