On Dec. 1, during the Grand Alumni Homecoming of Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan, the Batch 1993 of the School of Education organized their 25th Silver Jubilee, attended by no less than the former dean of the School of Education, and DepEd Cagayan de Oro Division superintendent, Dr. Lourdes G. Tolod. Also present during the event, held at the Berchman’s Conference Room of the MAGIS canteen, were Ma. Victoria B. Trinidad, Coordinator of Arrupe Research Center, and Ms. Elinesa E. Abamonga, PhD, Moderator of the Teacher’s Guild.

The event started with a short program and introduction of attendees. Out of 81 education students who graduated in 1993, 17 alumni were present. Ma. Victoria B. Trinidad, welcomed all the alumni and presented the programs of the School of Education.  This was followed by Ms. Abamonga, who presented the program of the Teachers’ Guild. Present also during the event were the president and the other officers of TG. The alumni Batch 1993 were inspired by Dr. Lourdes G. Tolod who shared about challenges and opportunities working as a teacher, particularly in DepEd.After the inspirational message, the Batch 1993 paid tribute to three of their batchmates who have passed on.

The School of Education will formally host the 2020 Xavier Ateneo Grand Alumni Homecoming. This early, the different batches and alumni of education are encouraged to prepare and plan for this big event. (pr)
