MISAMIS ORIENTAL – VICE GOVERNOR JOEY G. PELAEZ led more than 40 participants, both coming from the Legislative Department and the Executive Department of the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental, in attending the one-day Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Orientation-Workshop held last 21 July 2015 at the Session Hall of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

The Orientation-Workshop was organized by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan to facilitate the crafting of a legislative measure to institutionalize guidelines for Public-Private Partnership to cater to the priority of GOVERNOR BAMBI B. EMANO to develop the properties of the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental.

Mr. Agape Comendador and Ms. Kathleen Geslani, both Training Specialists of the Capacity Development and Knowledge Management Service of the Public-Private Partnership Center of the Philippines, facilitated the orientation.

The topics that were discussed include an Introduction to the Public-Private Partnership and the Philippine PPP Program, the Philippine PPP Legal Framework, PPP Infrastructure and Development Projects: Processes and Cycle, and a Briefing on Existing Policies on Joint Venture Agreements between Government and Private Entities. The Orientation also allowed an open Forum to clarify certain complex matters.

Also present during the activity were Provincial Board Members Mercy Grace Acain, Atty. Vincent Pelaez, Heckert Emano, Nancy Madjos, Susan Lagbas, Mario Emano, Donato Chan, Bing Dumadag and Jabi Bernaldez, Provincial Board Secretary Atty. Ernesto Sotto, Jr., Chief of Staff Atty. Lionel Maandig and Acting Provincial General Services Office Head Mr. Danilo Matias, among others.

Vice Governor Pelaez is very optimistic that an Ordinance on the Public-Private Partnership will soon be approved to be able to respond appropriately to the needs of the province.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        SP COMMUNICATIONS
