The announcement came after city hall submitted to SSS an official report on the initial damages caused by the December floodings in the city.

Allan Porcadilla, head of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Department, said the report submitted on Friday showed damages amounting to some P199 million.

Porcadilla said the most badly affected barangays in the city during the storm Vinta floodings were Balulang, Carmen, Kauswagan Bonbon, Macasandig,  Barangays 6, 7, 13, 15, 17, Consolacion, parts of Puntod and Macabalan, Gusa, Cugman and Puerto.

“Ang SSS management na ang balaha kon ila bang ipa-avail sa calamity loan ang mga SSS members nga wala ma-igo sa calamity kay ang declaration sa city council sa state of calamity, tibo-ok Cagayan  de Oro man gud,” said Porcadilla.

La Viña said that aside from the CDRRMD report, SSS also received a copy of a city council resolution that declared a state of calamity in the city in the aftermath of storm Vinta.

He stressed that only SSS members who can show that they were really affected by the floods can avail of calamity loans.

“Kadtong mga  SSS members nga wala ma-igo sa calamity, kana, maka-avail gihapon sila sa atong regular loans sama sa salary loans,” he said.
