SURIGAO City — Students and teachers of Surigao del Norte and its chartered city here will undergo stress debriefing since it will be incorporated in the opening of classes in all levels today.

The Department of Health’s mental health team who conducted a two-day stress debriefing to some 200 teachers in the province and this city over the weekend recommended that mass stress debriefings must also include students in the quake-affected areas.

“There are even teachers only few however greatly affected by the Friday’s 6.7 magnitude earthquake even go hysterical kahit konti kaluskos, and the psychiatrist volunteers who are members of the psycho-social stress debriefing team of the DOH recommended a longer sessions of stress debriefing,” Dr. Fidela Rosas, Schools Division Superintendent of Surigao del Norte told this city and province top officials during an emergency meeting last Friday.

Rosas also said there is a need for more tents to made as makeshift classrooms until rehabilitation works for damaged public schools are completed.

During the same emergency meeting, Governor Sol Matugas ordered the resumption of classes in all levels in the province and this city today.
