KAGAYANON Inc., a nonprofit organization based in Queens, New York, USA, showcased a remarkable act of generosity in Cagayan de Oro City. 

With great success, they even managed to provide 900 pairs of slippers to the learners of Barangay Dansolihon Elementary School.

This achievement was made possible through the organization’s Adopt-a-School Project II, aimed at supporting the young dreamers of the community.

On January 8, 2023, a special program was held at Dansolihon Elementary School to distribute the donated slippers.

Representatives of Kagayanon Inc. of Queens New York, including Ariel Mercado, Marilou Abrio, Crispin Abrio, Manoling Enerio, and Erlinda Asnar, were present to personally hand out the slippers to the excited pupils. 

Crispin Abrio, one of the board members in an interview, expressed his elation at witnessing the immense joy and gratitude of the recipients.

The Adopt-a-School Project II not only addressed the students’ immediate need for footwear but also served as a source of inspiration and motivation, according to Abrio. 

“The program emphasized the importance of education and provided encouragement for academic success,” said Abrio. 

School head Rommelyn Gonzales conveyed a heartfelt message of appreciation, recognizing the impact this initiative had on the lives of the young students.

Abrio, together with his colleagues from the organization, while expressing his satisfaction with the Adopt-a-School Project, reassured the community that Kagayanon Inc. remains committed to supporting Dansolihon Elementary School. 

He emphasized the organization’s dedication to equipping learners with the necessary resources for their educational journey.

“The act of providing a simple, yet essential item like slippers not only offered physical comfort to the students but also uplifted their spirits,” said Abrio. 

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Kagayanon Inc. for their continuous support and care. 

The tangible and intangible outcomes of this initiative have undoubtedly made a significant impact on the lives of these young dreamers.
