We’ve seen the rise of SupportZebra ever since its birth in 2011. For a homegrown BPO, they have consistently increased their number each year, and as they celebrate their 13th anniversary last February 8, 2024, we’ve witnessed their growth to over 700. They will continue to grow and write history in the coming years.

The celebration started with a Thanksgiving mass led by Fr. Fermin, followed by the blessing of the 2nd, 5th, 6th and 8th floors of One Providence Bldg. occupied by SupportZebra. By 4:00 o’clock in the afternoon, the SupportZebra  Family joined the formal program to commemorate the journey of SZ to where it is now.  The legacy employees who never tire of their dedication to work were also acknowledged and given recognition not only for their dedication but also for their loyalty to the company.

As SupportZebra’s President and Chief of Operations, Junar Amador shared, this year SZ will Brave New Frontiers in terms of growth margins. Thus, “Braving New Frontiers,” he said is a perfect theme.

Despite the steady growth the organization had in the past years, Junar said that this year will be an even more aggressive year for SupportZebra. It plans to hire close to two thousand talents to man its planned expansion to other key locations around the country while maintaining its growth in Cagayan de Oro.

“As I said kanina, we are going to be more aggressive when it comes to growing the business. 13 years na kami, medyo exponential ang increase ng headcount. This year, mas magiging steep ang growth ng SupportZebra, kaya tinatawag namin’g “Breaking New Frontiers” because this is actually the first time that we’re going to be aggressive in growing our business,” he said.

“We are very proud to be a homegrown BPO company and we owe it, of course, to Cagayan de Oro. As we expand, we are also happy to share that most of our leaders hail from Cagayan de Oro and we are absolutely certain that they will be able to manage the growth opportunities for SupportZebra.” Junar further stated.

Junar Amador who recently joined the team in June of last year, expressed his confidence in the SupportZebra culture and brand and that, it would successfully accomplish its goal this year.

Khalil Rellin, Vice President for Operations also expressed his sincere gratitude to the talented people behind SupportZebra, especially the pioneering Ambassadors who, from day one, have been part of the company’s ongoing success. He conveyed his appreciation to the owners who demonstrated unwavering dedication to achieving excellence in every aspect of the organization’s operations.

In his closing remarks, he mentioned “I am very excited for this year’s growth. This year is different. The team is stronger now with more and more leaders to set us up for success. I want to thank SupportZebra for bringing us [all] here. I also want to thank our legacy leaders who are still around and will continue to be around. We wouldn’t be here without them. I would like to end this celebration with a reminder that at the end of the day, it’s not just about the results. It is about having fun as we grow, having that genuine collaboration. It’s all about doing it the SZ way – meaning we have to be big in culture, we have to grow with a big heart in mind.” Rellin concluded.

As Nino Mae V. Duran, Chief People and Culture Officer, always says: “In SupportZebra, we take care of our people because they take care of our business”.

The celebration reached its zenith with an auspicious Lion Dance performance since the anniversary also fell on the week of the Chinese New Year celebration. Everyone enjoyed the performance as the lions danced their way through the Operations Floors bringing good luck, good will, prosperity and blessings to SupportZebra.
