THE Department of Science and Technology – Information and Communications Technology (DOST-ICT) Office Field Operations Office-Mindanao Cluster 2 (FOO-MC2) and Iligan Computer Institute (ICI) in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte signed a Memorandum of Agreement (Moa) for the establishment of a Technology for Education (Tech4ED) Center at ICI. Director Evamay C. Dela Rosa, Director II of ICT Office-FOO MC2, signed the agreement with Ladi Tabanao, President of ICI at the ICT Office in CDO. The agreement provides, among others, that ICT Office FOO-MC2 shall conduct appropriate orientation to ICI, support and assist ICI in the initial implementation of the

Tech4ED Project, and evaluate and conduct periodic monitoring of the said project.
ICI, on the other hand, shall ensure the operation of the Tech4ED Center from Monday through Friday, for at least eight consecutive hours relative to Tech4ED Center operations guidelines, provide at least one full-time personnel who shall be known as the Tech4ED Center Manager for its successful operation, and the provision of at least three laptops or desktop computers.

Tech4ED or Technology for Education to gain Employment and empower Entrepreneurs towards Economic Development under the eSociety Division of ICT Office, is geared towards enabling the unserved and the marginalized sector in the 42,000 barangays in the country, to upgrade their digital literacy, increase their knowledge and skill sets for employment, access health professionals for proper healthcare, start a source of livelihood, improve production, become entrepreneurs, and communicate with family members (OFWs), by establishing access points or centers.

Also present during the Moa signing were Dir. Mindaya K. Disangcopyan (Director I of ICT Office-FOO-MC2), Kim Romarez (President of Iligan Lanao IT Enterprise, ILITE)
