Teener collared in buy-bust ops

BUTUAN City — Joint police and narcotics operatives arrested a 19-year-old girl in a buy-bust operation at Purok 7, Barangay Ambago, this city on Monday.

In an emailed statement from Police Regional Office 13, Regional Director Chief Supt. Rolando Felix, identified the suspect as Madel Deles Ganzon, 19, and a resident of Barangay Amontay, Nasipit town in Agusan del Norte.

Seized from Ganzon’s possession were 0.5 gram of suspected shabu valued at P5,900 and P300 buy-bust money.

Last week, seven other suspected drug pushers were arrested after the resumption of Oplan Tokhang by the police here in Caraga Region, Felix said in the same emailed statement.

Anti-illegal drugs operations conducted by Tandag City police resulted in the arrest of Thelma Meras, 52, Janibel Cagas, 28, and Bobby Abrigo, 29, all residents of Barangay Dagocdoc, Tandag City.

Cabadbaran City police apprehended Raul Cabillon, 42, in Barangay 4, in Cabadbaran while Surigao City Police nabbed Clementino Sinday, 39, resident Barangay Canlanipa and Candy Sarsaba, 24 of Barangay Sabang, Surigao City.

“Our operatives seized 23 sachets of suspected shabu and some illegal drug paraphernalia,” Felix said.

All suspects have been placed under the custody of the authorities while cases for violation of Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act are being prepared against them.

“Our new anti-illegal drug campaign dubbed Project Double Barrel Reloaded has two parts— a revitalized Project HVT, the campaign to go after the high-value targets or big time personalities and groups, and a reformed OplanTokhang in which policemen with religious leaders, barangay officials, and other stakeholders.
