NO words may be enough to describe a teacher’s job. Surveys only tell that teaching is one of the most stressful jobs in the world. Yet teachers still go about their daily course–come to school before students arrive, follow the school program and leave only as everyone has gone home, not to mention that they spend the night making lengthy daily lesson logs, visual aids or computing grades.

Behind the cheerful façade of these powerful workers are gargantuan concerns on finances. Visit banks and loan institutions and you’ll find teachers lining up! They thrive through life and are dependent on the loaneloan cycle. Why not? Banks offer attractive terms to teachers because they are the people they trust no matter what. (Speaking of credibility!)

While the plight of teachers could be due mostly to personal mismanagement, it is also true that a teacher’s salary may really not suffice. If you visit classrooms early morning, you’ll find some teachers attending to students who do not have breakfast. At the pinnacle of the day, you’ll find them shelling out an amount for an “ice water” for students. When students do not have lunch, a teacher could not proceed moving his/her mandibles knowing that someone watching is starving.

There are teachers who will buy their students’ socks or even feminine pads; teachers who coach competitions, spending from their own pockets in exchange for honor in a piece of certificate–if it is what it takes to let the students believe their hard work paid off.

For the whole day’s work where energy is taken from the teacher, he/she deserves nutritional interventions in order to proceed to the next day’s bout of tasks. Imagine other workers doing only a checking-stampingeleasing routine with a teacher somersaulting his/her way to finish the day. Who do you think deserves a higher pay?

The unseen shade of the teaching job must be taken into consideration. A good pay could make better lives and produce better students in effect, but there is no amount of money that may equate the passion of a teacher’s heart!
