Charged before Regional Trial Court of Misamis Oriental Branch 23 under Judge Vincent Rosales is Gemma Velasco of GPV Realty and Real Estate Broker.

Velasco’s accuser, businessman Vicente Tan, accused the broker of violating the Revised Penal Code and Batas Blg. 22.

Tan alleged that in March 2012, Velasco called him up because of an upper Camaman-an property that was for sale, and she needed money because the National Housing Authority (NHA) was looking for a site for a housing project for Typhoon Sendong survivors.

Tan said he trusted Velasco because they had a successful business transaction before that.

He said he handed Velasco money on several occasions, and in return, he was given checks as guarantee.

Subsequently, Tan said, the checks bounced, and he found out that the bank account was closed.

He said he asked Velasco to pay up on several occasions but no payment was made.

The court had issued an arrest warrant against Velasco but this paper learned that the broker bailed out for P80 thousand.
