DIGOS CITY – A joint police operations conducted against illegal drug traffickers here resulted to the capture of a businessman and tricycle drivers in a separate buy-bust in Barangay Poblacion on Friday night.

Supt. April Mark Young, Digos City police chief, has identified the suspects as Ricardo Redondo, 45, a resident of Roxas Street, Barangay Zone 2.

Police recovered a .45 caliber pistol with live ammunitions from Redondo aside from suspected shabu when frisked by the police.

Prince Raymund Sumaylo Pelino, 30, a resident of Lim-Bataan Streets, Zone 3; Julito Baba Costaños, 42; Julius Opong Mellejor, of Purok Manga, San Jose; and Niel Alisna y Sadili, 35, from Roxas Extension, all from this city, were also caught selling suspected shabu to a police asset who posed as buyer during the sting operations.

Recovered by the police from their possession during the buy-bust were a .45 caliber pistol with three ammunitions inside the magazine, a .38 caliber revolver and four live ammunitions inside its chamber, shabu, cash and cellular phones believed to be used during their transactions.

Young said the local police are aiming to capture or neutralize all the personalities involved in drug trafficking inside the city.

“They better stop their illegal trade or face the full force of the law,” he said.
