Gingoog City — An underaged suspect of carnapping will be facing criminal charges as the authorities filed  a case for violating Section 3 of the New Anti Carnapping Law (RA 10883).

Chief investigator Teddy Macarayo has confirmed that they filed the charges against a 17-year-old minor on Thursday morning.

Macarayo said the charges against the minor has been filed in court a few hours after his arrest.

He said the suspect was arrested at Sitio Kiagao in Barangay Lunao here after a report from a concerned resident that there was a suspicious man riding a motorcycle.

Gingoog City Police Director Supt. Ariel Philip Pontillas instructed his plain-clothed personnel to proceed to the area and arrest the suspect, Macarayo added.

The police caught the minor in the act of riding the stolen motorcycle.

When questioning the minor, failed to present any document and later the authority found that the motorcycle he was riding was stolen.

In interview, the minor denied the allegation.

Gisugo ra ko pagpalit sa [rum] gamit ang maong motor nga nasugat pud dayon nako sa dalan ang mga apprehending officer,” the suspect claimed.
