BUTUAN City — Vigilante-style killings have struck this city again killing at least three drug suspects and seriously wounding another in three separate incidents here on Monday. All attacks were executed through the same modus operandi –– gunmen riding in tandem.

At about noon on Oct. 3, police said Karl Torredes, 32, a graphi artist and owner of Emprinta Digital Artworks was shot by unidentified assailants riding a black Suzuki Raider motorcycle with no plate number.

According to Senior Insp. Paul Padin, in 2010 Torredes faced charges for allegedly selling shabu.

Torredes succumbed to four fatal gunshot wounds to his body and head. The fatality was shot dead near his shop in Barangay Diego Silang.

The night before, at around 11:57 pm, another drug suspect identified as Rene Laolao Bagsoling, 32, a resident of Purok 3, Ambangan, Barangay Ambago, this city was shot to death.

Police said Bagsoling was walking along New Road Purok 7, Barangay Limaha Butuan City when gunmen riding in tandem shot him seven times.

Meanwhile, a drug suspect identified by the police only as Marjun, a resident of Resurrection, Barangay Holy Redeemer, here, and his companion Ersal Jarua Jaguire, 43, were shot at around 11:55 pm on Saturday. Police said the two were walking along Montilla Street towards Langihan Road.

Police said unidentified assailants were riding a black Suzuki Raider motorcycle without plate number stopped at the victims’ side and suddenly shot them.

Marjun was shot to the head and died on the spot while Jaguire, who sustained a gunshot wound to his face, nape, and right arm, was brought to Butuan Medical Center.
