BUTUAN City — An incumbent barangay kagawad was killed in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG 13) and Bayugan City Police on Tuesday evening in Barangay Dagkutan, Esperanza, Agusan del Sur.
CIDG-Caraga regional chief Supt. Agosto Daskeo identified the victim as Barangay Kagawad Cian Saguran alyas Yan, councilman of Barangay Dakutan, Esperanza, Agusan del Sur. Saguran was in CIDG’s high-value target in its anti-illegal drug campaign.
In an initial report, the CIDG claimed Saguran engaged the arresting police in a shootout after he realized he was dealing with a police posing as a drug buyer.
Seized and recovered from the possession of Saguran were the following; a .45 caliber pistol with magazine, four sachets of suspected shabu which weighed 6.7 grams with a street-value of P80 thousand, three caliber .45 bullets, three P100 bills used as marked money, and various drug paraphernalia.
The Scene of the Crime Operatives 13 was present to process the crime scene.
