A 74-year-old widower and a jeepney fare collector were arrested for raping minors in separate incidents last Sunday.
Police Capt. Teodoro De Oro, Macasandig police station chief, identified the suspect as Dominador Jumawan, 74 of Hilltop, Macasandig.
Jumawan, De Oro said was arrested by his men at around 3 pm inside his house for allegedly sexually abusing a six-year-old child.
A 13-year-old witness said he saw the suspect forcing the child to go with him and once they were already in the area Jumawan raped her.
The statement was confirned by the victim.
Another rape suspect was arrested by Lumbia policemen for victimizing a 13-year-old minor.
Police Capt. Jerson Estanilla, Lumbia police station chief, identified the suspect as Johnmar Angano, Tagbokbok, Barangay Bayanga, 18, a jeepner fare collector.
Anggano denied the allegation saying he and the victim were lovers.
The victim however told police she and Angano are just friends.
Police rescued the victim inside the suspect’s house.
