GINGOOG City–A woman died and 14 other people were injured when a truck and a public van collided on the highway in Barangay San Luis, this city, yesterday morning.
SPO1 Michael Maestrado identified the fatality as Marites Ramoso, 37, Quirino, San Luis.
Maestrado said the mini-dump truck went wayward after its left front tire burst, and then collided head-on with the oncoming van with license plates KVG-0703.
Ramoso, according to Maestrado, was seated at front seat of the van.
Police said the driver of the truck with license plates GNB-360 ran off after the accident.
The van driver, 37-year old Monsito Visto of Agay-ayan here, was hurt.
Others injured were Zenaida Ramoso, 63; Jemar Aiza, 23; Misryme Sabino,17; Mercidita Sabado, 42; Rhea Domo, 13; Alex Ortaliza, 30; Jhasel Fulguerinas, 26;
Leticia Fulguerinas, 62; Jhaseh Fulguerinas, 24; Jisha Regahal, 21; Vessely Balaba, 15; Orbina Abarientos, 52; and Nelyn Amarga, 27.
