PO3  Roque Balistoy identified the fatality as 41-year old Gina Cantones of Barangay Bonbon. Cantones died at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) at around 9 pm.

Balistoy said the Cogon-bound jeepney from Bonbon crashed on the parked trailer after its swerved towards the right road shoulder. He said the jeepney driver, Gerry Suello, lost control of the vehicle after he tried to avoid a head-on collision with an oncoming jeepney from Bayabas.

Suello’s jeepney, owned by Damting Kang of Macahambus-Burgos streets, is beyond repair.

Balistoy said Suello, who is struggling for life at presstime, would be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and multiple Injuries, and damage to property.
