At least a thousand hopeful young applicants in Northern Mindanao and Caraga region took the Philippine Military Academy Entrance Examination (PMAEE), over the weekend.

A total of 1,260 young aspirants took the PMA EE––818 entrants from region 10 and 442 entrants from region 13.  “The figure manifests that there are thousand youth leaders in this side of the Country who are more than willing to serve the nation,” MGen Oscar T Lactao, Commander of 4th Infantry Division, based at Camp Edilberto Evangelis-ta in Barangay Patag, this city, said.

Lactao also thanked the parents and guardians for allowing their sons and daughters to take the PMA Entrance Examination because it is the “first step in joining the noble profession of arms.”

The PMAEE is the first step in the selection process of this prestigious military school. After a month, a letter coming from the Office of the Cadet Admission, Philippine Military Academy will be sent directly to the given address of the applicants if they have successfully passed the PMAEE. The result will also be published online at the official website of PMA (www.pma.ph) and in national and local newspapers.

“With the blessings coming from our Almighty Father, I am hoping that we will get more passers from Northern Mindanao who will serve as leaders of our Nation”, MGen Lactao said. (pa/afp)
