ZAMBOANGA City – Zamboanga city’s 1st District Rep Celso L. Lobregat announced that the bills creating the three National High Schools (NHS) in this city have been approved recently by the Senate without amendments.
These three Bills, HB 5364 (Tulungatung NHS), HB 5365 (Pasonanca NHS) and HB 6155 (San Roque NHS) have been approved by the Senate on the 3rd reading without amendments last February 2, 2016.
The Barangay officials, residents, principals, teachers and students of Barangays Tulungatung, Pasonanca and San Roque have been eagerly awaiting for the National Legislation of these schools for quite some time and now it has become a reality.
The following bills were said to be approved in the nick off time as these were approved on the second to the last day before the Congress adjourned.
Congressman Lobregat who filed and shepherd these bills in the House and the Senate expressed his gratitude to Sen. Pia Cayetano Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Education Arts and Culture and Congresswoman Kimi Cojuangco who is the Chairperson of the Committee on Basic Education and Culture in the House of Representatives for the passage of the three Bills.
Lobregat expressed his deep sense of appreciation and fulfilment and said “this is a great and wonderful way to end the 16th Congress”.
Lobregat who has been known for his high prioritization and advocacy on Education said that if given the mandate to serve again as Congressman of District 1 in the coming elections, he will pursue his high priority and advocacy in Education.
Congressman Lobregat is a firm believer that Education is the ultimate solution to address poverty that is currently plaguing our great nation. (totoy m. muñoz )
