Camp Alagar spokesman Lt. Col. Sereñas identified the wounded soldier as Edgar Da-ao.

According to Army Capt. Leoden Bajado, 58IB civil military officer, their Charlie Company clashed with around 10 suspected members of the New People’s Army.

The firefight, he said, lasted at least 15 minutes.

Luwas na hino-on ang iyang kahimtang kay daplis man lang ang iyang igo,” Bajado said.

Bajado said their Charlie Company was conducting a combat operation in the area when they encountered the heavily armed guerrillas.

In another development, 1st Lt. Ken Cabbigat, 8th Infantry Battalion civil military officer,  denied that the suspects killed by the NPA in Sitio Alangilan Barangay Siloo, Maligbog in Bukidnon at around 8:30 in the evening Tuesday were their intelligence assets

Cabbigat identified the slain suspects as Romeo and Arnold Caday.

The Army officer said both Cadays had pending cases of murder and rape and were executed by suspected NPA rebels.
