SOME parts of the city would have no electricity for 11 hours on Saturday because linemen of the Cagayan Electric Power and Light Co. (Cepalco) would carry out a line maintenance work.

Cepalco announced yesterday that the blackout is scueduled from 7 am to 6 pm on Saturday, and this would affect power consumers in some areas in barangays Gusa and Indahag.

Cepalco said the blackout was scheduled because it would undertake a line conductor stringing and maintenance work along Gusa highway.

Power switching would also result in a blackout from 7 am to 8:30 am, and 4:30 pm to 6 pm in Barangay Lapasan.

The announcement came even as Cepalco released another schedule of daily rotating blackouts in Cagayan de Oro and some parts of Misamis Oriental effective today till March 8 due to the worsening power supply shortage in Mindanao and low power allocation set by the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management (Psalm) to Cepalco.

The affected areas are divided in four groups.

Group 1 consists of greater portions of Camaman-an, Villanueva, Cogon, some parts of the city proper Along Pabayo Hayes, Velez, Capistrano, T. Chavez, Tiano Bros. Mortola, Yacapin and all of Osmeña St.. Blackouts are expected in these areas from 12 nn to 2:30 pm on March 3 to 5 and 9:30 am to 12 nn on March 6 to 8.

Group 2 consists of greater portions of Carmen, Upper Carmen, Kauswagan, Bonbon, Bayabas, Tablon, Baloy, Malasag Cugman, Gusa, Upper Gusa, Lapasan, including Agora. Blackouts are expected in these areas from 2:30 pm to 5 pm on March 3 to 5, and 12 nn to 2:30 pm on March 6 to 8.

Group 3 is composed of the greater parts of Jasaan, Tagoloan,Casinglot, Macasandig, Tambo, Tibasak, Mandumol, Taguanao, Nazareth and some parts of Divisoria. Blackouts are expected in these areas from 5 pm to 7:30 pm on March 3 to 5, and 2:30 pm to 5 pm on March 6 to 8.

Group 4 includes major parts of Kauswagan, NHA Phase 1 and 2, Capisnon, RER Phase 1 and 2, Macabalan and all of Upper and Lower Balulang, Consolacion, Macanhan and Lumbia. Blackouts are expected in these areas from 9:30 am to 12 nn on March 3 to 5, and 5 pm to 7:30 pm on March 6 to 8.
