11 injured as wayward jeepney from Tagoloan rams truck

ELEVEN people were rushed to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) after a public jeepney crashed into an oncoming 10-wheel truck along the highway in Barangay Tablon yesterday morning.

Authorities identified the victims as Vangie Chua, Rel Gensin, Paulo Tadeo, Mariano Sayson, Jeric Alaba;

Gabriel Bolonsina, Jomar Hipolito, Ian Salawaga, Bernabe Agsulay, John Abe abe, and Jerson Simpaga.

Initial investigation show that at about 7 am,  a jeepney from Sta. Ana, Tagoloan, with license plates KVS-699, that was bound for downtown Cagayan de Oro went wayward after one of its tires burst while it was speeding.

The jeepney swerved and went straight to the oncoming 10-wheeler with plate number KVU376 in Baloy in Barangay Tablon.

The jeepney and truck drivers were subjected to an investigation, and were being held at the Police Station 10 at presstime.
