A 12-HOUR blackout hit eastern towns of Misamis Oriental on Wednesday but a member of the board of the Misamis Oriental II Rural Electric Service Cooperative  (Moresco) said it had nothing to do with the power crisis.

The blackout took place from 6 am to 6 pm on Wednesday, affecting Sugbobgcogon, Balingoan and Kinoguitan.

Gingoog City and the towns of Medina and Magsaysay were hit by a blackout from 4 pm to 7 pm, the same day.

Moresco II director Mark Valdevilla said the half-day power interruption was due to technical problems on a 69-kv power line in Agusan del Norte.

There was no clear explanation but Valdevilla said it was a “line disturbance.” (edwin iyo)
