BUTUAN City — Two drug personalities who yielded to Oplan Tokhang and Double Barrel were shot dead by still unidentified gunmen who were riding in tandem in two separate incidents on Wednesday evening and yesterday morning.
The first fatality was identified as Jun Allen Honasa, 28, resident of Poblacion in Remedios T. Romualdez town, Agusan del Norte who was shot dead in front while walking in street around 6:45 pm Sept. 21.
RTR Municipal Police investigators found a placard beside dead body of Honasa marked: “Pusher ko, ayaw ko sunduga. Kamo na ang sunod.”
Yesterday morning at 8:30 am, Dante Diayon, 49, married, a resident of Barangay Doña Rosario, Tubay, Agusan del Norte was shot dead in the same way as Honasa.
A Tubay Municipal Police Station reports reads Diayon was killed by gunmen riding a motorcycle.
PO3 Edison Cañete, investigator of the case said Diayon was allegedly in their local illegal drugs watch list but still continued to sell and used shabu despite yielding to their Oplan Tokhang. The police said Diayon was never rehabilitated due to the lack of a local drug rehabilitation facility.
But Diayon’s wife, Lilia, claimed otherwise. She said her husband already stopped peddling and using shabu after he responded to the local Oplan Tokhang.
Tubay Police said they are still investigating the shooting of Diayon who happened to be a relative of late former Butuan City Mayor Democrito Diayon Plaza, II.
Honasa and Diayon killings were the 8th and 9th fatalities by way of gunmen riding in tandem in Caraga Region.
