Police subsequently identified the girl as two-year-old Renz Gubat of San Vicente, Baybay, Casinglot.

The body was first found by a woman inside a container filled with water. It was placed at a boarding house located  meters from the girl’s residence.

Jessa Flor Jarabe said she was doing the dishes at the kitchen and fetched some water from the container but she was shocked to touch the feet of the girl.

Jarabe said she quickly ran outside and told people about her shocking find.

Residents took the body out and rushed the girl to the St. Paul in the hope she would be revived. But at the hospital, the girl was pronounced dead on arrival.

Maj. Allan Oniana, Tagoloan police chief, said investigators were determining if there was foul play or if it was an accident.

Last year in the same barangay, a three-year-old boy was found inside a sack that was placed under the barangay hall’s kitchen. The boy however survived.
