AT least 20 people were rushed to St. Paul Hospital in Tagoloan town in Misamis Oriental, after a speeding bus they were riding collided with a cargo truck at noon yesterday.

Tagoloan town police traffic investigator PO2 Louel Miniano said a Rural Transit Mindanao Inc.-owned bus crashed into a Kia Frontier truck on the highway at around 12:30 noon.

He said the bus, driven by one Wayne Rebia, came from Gingoog City en route to this city while the cargo truck, driven by Alaine Magtoba, 40, a resident of Balingasag town, came from this city to deliver vegetables to Gingoog City.

Miniano said the public bus was overtaking another vehicle when it collided head on with the oncoming cargo truck.

No one was killed in the collision, Miniano said, but passengers were seriously injured, including a woman who rode in the cargo truck.

Miniano said they police are still investigating the head-on collision to establish a case against the culpable party. (Nitz Arancon)
