THE Community-based Forest Management (CBFM) welcome 24 new members to its fold in protecting the city’s watershed areas.

The 24 new members took their oath during the CBFM general assembly held at the resthouse of the late businessman Pedro ‘Boyboy’ Roa, Jr. in Sitio Birhen, Barangay Dansolihon, this city.

Fernando Baldon, CBFM coordinator led the oath-taking ceremony.

The general assembly was also attended by seven leader of Elder Tribes, three of eleven of members of the tribal council of the hinterland barangays of the city.

Baldon told the new members that part of their task is to protect the city’s 2,000-hectare watershed area.

He added that CBFM has a 25-year contract with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to protect the watershed area of the city where Cagayan River originates.
