AT least one high-value target and two others were arrested by the Detective Management Desk-City Special Operation Group of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office last Friday.

Elements of the DMD, led by Chief Insp. Harvey S. Abellanosa, together with CPSC team, under the supervision and control of Supt. Roy A. Magsalay, and the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Task Force, led by Chief Insp. Joepet B. Paglinawan, conducted a buy-bust operation at Block 1, Lot 52 La Buena Vida in Grand Europa, Lumbia, this city on Friday.

The house is owned by a Michael Sedigo, authorities said. Police identified the drug suspects as Jerry S. Villarmino, 54, a resident of Bantiles, Zone1, Bugo, this city.

Authorities said Villar-mino has been known as a drug supplier operating mainly in the Bugo-Puerto area based on the Drug Enforcement Agency’s (PDEA 10) target drug list. Puerto Police Station 6 has also listed Villarmino as “top drug pusher” in their Link Analysis-Drug Matrix.

Also arrested in the same buy-bust operation were Anthony Karl C. Romo, 36, resident of Zone 4, Bugo, and Marlo B. Ravidas, 34, resident of Estakahan Zone 1, Agusan.

Initial investigation disclosed that the drug suspects were working together as a team using the rented house undetected for the past months for their drug transactions.

The police found out the group’s modus operandi after Villarmino’s capture on May, this year. However, he was able to post bail. Villarmino was also arrested in 2011 for violation of illegal drug sale but he was acquitted at RTC Branch 25 in 2014.

Recovered from the drug suspects were one small heat-sealed cellophane containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, two P500 bills used as marked money,  seven packs of various sizes of heat-sealed cellophane containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu all with an estimated weight of 60 grams and an estimated street value of P300 thousand.

Various drug paraphernalia, one home-made magnum .22 revolver, and one home-made .38 revolver with four live ammunition were also found at the house.

The buy-bust operation was witnessed by the subdivision president Allan Melendez and the subdiv-ision’s roving guards.

The seized evidence have been forwarded to the PNP Crime Laboratory for qualitative and quantitative examinations. All three suspects are currently detained at the Maharlika Detention Cell. Authorities said they are readying cases for filing against the suspects as of this writing.
