BUTUAN City – IN the hinterlands of Tagkiling, Barangay Anticala here 67 self-confessed drug users and pushers mostly members of an indigenous tribe surrendered to their tribal chieftain Datu Mahigugmaon on July 21.
For his part Mahigugmaon personally processed their surrender to the authorities to make sure they will be safe.
The tribal chief in an interview told Gold Star Daily that he was surprise of the news and shear number of his tribesmen who were addicted to shabu.
“I was surprised in the number of fellow tribes and villagers hooked into illegal drugs shabu that they have been addicted into it for more than a yearnow, some just started while others hooked into shabu for years already. As a community and tribal leader I did not noticed this. Being an assistant Church preacher, I am praying for them. The big problem now is their rehab,” Datu Mahigumaon said. (ben serrano)
