BUTUAN CITY — Six rookie policemen still in their PO1 and PO2 ranks were found positive of illegal drugs use after a random drug test.

During Police Regional Office 13 command conference here in Butuan City recently, Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Director Senior Supt. Joseph Plaza confirmed that six of his policemen, all of them police rookies, were found positive after a random drug test at the police provincial command.

Plaza, however, withheld identities of the six policemen saying he will consult the Police Regional Office 13 legal department and also he wanted to have one on one talks with the cops found positive in the drug tests.

Plaza claimed the cops were already re-assigned at the Regional Personnel Holding Administration Unit (RPHAU) at the Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) here at Camp Rafael Rodriguez, this city, handling their cases will conduct a series of summary hearings.

PRO 13 Regional Director Chief Supt. Vert Tinio Chavez also told Gold Star Daily that the cops were found positive saying the result of the summary hearings will determine their fate in the police service.

Chavez however did not replied on challenges of worried and concerned citizens in Caraga Region that random drug test must also conducted in all Municipal and Provincial Police offices in the region.
