Ginoong at Binibining Higalaay 2018

Ginoong Higalaay 2018 Fitness and Bodybuilding Competition are all set at the CDO Bar located at Rotunda, Cagayan de Oro City.
Today’s bodybuilding event highlights the visit of one of the Philippines top body-builder, Mr. Eduardo Pineda. He was also invited as the guest judge of the event.
More than P150, 000 worth of cash prizes, trophies, and medals were given to the lucky winners. The program officially starts at 6 p.m.
This is organized by Brad Calonia, owner and manager of Equilibrium fitness center, and Allan Empleo, marketing officer of Equilibrium fitness center.
This year, this event was even highlighted upon the participation of the female category.
“Hopefully next year we can invite more world-class bodybuilders as guests at our event. Hope to see also new aspiring athletes to compete. Also, as the organizer of such an event, I can see how Kagay-anon love the sport especially those who are really inclined in the fitness world. So hopefully we could get support from the city government, in any form, and in order for us to organize a better and promising bodybuilding event and be able to promote the sport especially to the younger generation,” Calonia said.
There were 6 categories of the contest; 5 of which were for male participants; and 1 for the female category. There were around 80 male and 8 female competitors who joined the said event.
“It is a national event. There were athletes coming from Manila, Cebu, Davao and from nearby cities in Mindanao. Athletes were scored based on their physical, symmetry and proportion, muscularity, conditioning, posing ability and stage presence,” he said.
