SM CDO Downtown Premier formally switched on its giant Christmas tree last November 11. Standing at four-storey high or more than 40 feet, this mammoth of a tree was decorated with gold and silver along with the traditional colors of the yuletide season.

But the beauty of this tree does not stop there, as it also resonates throughout the mall by covering the sides of entire floors with hanging Christmas lights serving like “roots & vines” to create an even more spectacular feel as you enter the mall leading towards the activity center where the giant Christmas tree is placed.

To up the ante, SM not only supersized it’s Christmas tree, but also the stars placing them front & center; and at the helm of it was the “North Star” completing the tree itself.

The event was graced by former beauty queens & local celebrities the likes of Danna Rose Socaoco (Miss Millennial 2018 1st runner up), Katrina Zayas Acaylar (Miss CDO 2017 and this city’s bet for Miss World Philippines 2018), Nicole Abas-Datayan (NikiTV), city officials Hon. City Mayor Oscar Moreno, City Tourism Council Chair Dorothy Jean Pabayo, Jay Roa Pascual, and other VIPS.

Kagay-anons also got to witness this grand occasion as it unfolds layer by layer with festive songs from an orchestra of talented kids with a special song number by PGT Season 1 finalist Markki Stroem.

Also introduced during the event was the “Share a Bear this Christmas” a toy giving cause that would help give joy to children this yuletide season through the help of SM Supermalls, SM Cares a division of SM foundation, and Toy Kingdom. Simply buy a pair of cute little teddy bear for only P200 – one for you and one for a child in need.
