Iligan City — The police officer who was caught on video hitting seven boys here has already been relieved of duty, Senior Insp. Felix Rabago of Police Station 4 in Barangay Tubad, this city said.
Rabago identified the erring police officer as Senior Police Officer 2 Dionesio Generaole.
Last Tuesday, Generaole was caught on video mauling seven boys who violated the city’s curfew hours.
The video has since gone viral on social media late last week and was even featured in national news TV. The TV news report, Rabago said, will be made public so they will know what really happened that night and to aid them in their investigation on the mauling incident.
City Councilor Bernard Pacana, chair of the committee on human rights of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, enjoined both parties to see him in his office.
He also enjoined the parties involved to visit to the satellite office of the Commission Human Rights which is at Sabayle street, this city.
