Members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Moro Islamic Liberation Front held a friendly game of basketball, dubbed “SportsPeace” in Munai Lanao del Norte last Saturday.
Mayor Casan Maquiling thanked the office of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process and Pakigdait, the civil society organization in Lanao del Norte for facilitating the event.
He said it will help show to the people that the AFP and MILF are no longer adversaries but partners in the quest for a lasting peace in Mindanao.
He added that Munai used to be a bulwark of the MILF.
Musa Sanguila , Managing Director of Pakigdait said SporsPeace is one way of making people understand the peace process.
He said the CSO is doing everything to make people understand the peace process and the Bangsamoro Basic Law.
