City hall is mapping out plans to rid the sidewalks and roads of Carmen market of obstructions.

On her Facebook page, city hall spokesperson Maricel Rivera announced that the clearing operations would affect 55 market stall holders.

Of the 55, only 41 have business permits, Rivera said.

Rivera’s announcement came even as city hall officials met Monday to discuss plans on how they would carry out the road clearing operations at Carmen market.

She said the affected stall holders would be relocated to the first level of the public market, and they would be given priority.

Rivera said those found to have been illegally operating would be required to secure business permits.

City hall plans to carry out the clearing operations at Carmen market on Nov. 3 in line with President Duterte’s order for local governments to “reclaim” sidewalks and public roads.
