I REALLY cannot understand the basis for the removal of Senior Supt. David Lacdan as the provincial police director of Benguet. If Interior Secretary Mel Senen Sarmiento sacked Lacdan because of the big number of people from Benguet who died while Typhoon Lando was raging, we might as well oust others from the  Aquino government, for the same reason.

First, we must also remove President Aquino because, as the highest official of the land, he is responsible for the death of 58 people from Landoelated incidents. As it were, Aquino is the ultimate official who failed in his preparations for Lando, to achieve his own “zero casualty” program during calamities.

Then, we should kick out likewise Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin, because he similarly failed to properly discharge his duties and responsibilities as the chief of the National Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC). Social Welfare Secretary Corazon Soliman, Science Secretary Mario Montejo, and Sarmiento himself, must also be booted out of office, because they failed to prevent the death of the 58 victims, too.

That is the problem with this government, really. All that it can do most effectively is “finger point,” and toss to others the blame for things that went awry, even if these happened under their watch already. What is more, this government is also noted for immediately removing officials who dare tell the truth about how many really died from calamities that visited the country.

The sudden removal of a high police official from the Eastern Visayan Region after he announced that the death toll from Typhoon Yolanda could reach 10,000 people is a glaring case in point. Clearly, the Aquino government would rather keep under wraps the truth about the disasters that have been hitting us, rather than disclose such truth.

It is undeniable that the Aquino government, concerned as it is with projecting an image of righteousness and conscientiousness in doing its job, would rather work to earn praises, than to immediately address the problems hounding our hapless countrymen. As the late Sen.  Joker Arroyo said, the Aquino government is a “high school student-council” type of government, run by inexperienced and juvenile student council leaders.

Sadly, we have been warned about this kind of a government, and about these kinds of leaders. We have been told that if we continue turning away from God, refusing to listen to Him by not reading His Bible, and failing, deliberately or otherwise, to obey His commands, God will make our leaders “mere children.”

What is more, we were warned that under a “child-leader,” we shall be oppressing one another, “… man against man. The young will rise up against the old, the nobody against the honored… youth oppress my people, women rule over them…”

Please take notice that in this warning, after the leadership of a country is held by oppressive “mere children,” womenulers shall be installed. It is clear that being ruled by women, just like being ruled by leaders who are “mere children,” is something that is not really approved by whoever wrote this message. Indeed, may God have mercy on us all!
