TANDAG City – The agri-trade fair spearheaded by the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg) reeled off at around 9:00 a.m., Wednesday at the Vicente L. Pimentel, Sr. Boulevard as part of the highlights of the 55th Araw Ng Surigao del Sur celebration, this year. Governor Johnny Pimentel led the ribbon-cutting joined in by Marcos Quico, chief provincial agriculturist, Col. Isidro Purisima, commander of 402nd Brigade, P/SSupt. Narciso Verdadero, PNP provincial director, and other prominent personalities from various sectors.

After which, Pimentel proceeded for the booth hopping in all participating 19 local government units (LGUs) whose bunch of caretakers eagerly posed for picture-taking. A lot of displays, ready for sale, ranging from agriculture products, fisheries, and handicrafts abound. During the early goings, people from all walks of life jammed the entire venue; among them were first couple City Mayor Roxanne Pimentel and husband City Administrator Alexander Pimentel. P/Supt. Jeffrey Lawrence Mauricio, Tandag City police chief, assured security is in place for the duration not only of the said fair but the whole five-day celebration. (PIA)
