Supt. Surki Sereñas, police spokesperson for northern Mindanao, said the alert level would be raised to full two days before Nov. 1.

Hundreds of police officers would be fielded to over 50 cemeteries, and bus terminals here an elsewhere in Region 10.

The police’s Regional Police Service Battalion (RPSB) would be supported by soldiers from the Army’s 4th Infantry Division.

City police director Senior Supt. Ronnie Francis Cariaga said he already instructed all police stations and special units to strictly implement early security measures throughout the city.

He said the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council would help the police especially in public cemeteries like the City Memorial Park (formerly Bolonsiri Cemetery) in Camaman-an.

“We will also tap barangay officials and the Road and Traffic Administration,” Cariaga said.

In Misamis Oriental, the provincial police office ordered similar measures to be in place in 23 municipalities and two component cities, said lawyer Web Bajenio, Misamis Oriental police spokesman.
