The longest running golf tournament in Northern Mindanao “The 19th Oro Open” spearheaded by the Rotary Club of West Cagayan de Oro is all set for the three-day activity that would be held at Pueblo de Oro Golf & Country Club this city on February 22 to 24 attracting over 300 golfers from all over the country.

The best thing about it is all the proceeds would go to the RC West CDO to fund its community projects for creating lasting impacts in building communities; such as the 37th Most Outstanding Public School Teacher Award (MOPSTA) which recognizes exemplary and dedicated public school teachers around Northern Mindanao.

It would also fund the club’s UPLIFT Scholarship program that provides scholarship to rural poor communities in the elementary and high school level, Medical Missions, livelihood and youth empowering projects, feeding programs at Barangay Bayabas, Kauswagan, Balubal, and to other remote barangays of Cagayan de Oro City.

Lastly, its Water and Sanitation Projects at Barangay Bayanga and Dansolihon through Skyhydrant (Ultra Filtration Water System), and the Dakilang Ina, Ikaw Na Project a Mother and Child Care project at Lower Balulang and Indahag among others.

According to Past Assistant Governor Mandy Tarayao, Vice Chairman of the 19th Oro Golf Open said “this project attracts players because it offers great camaraderie among golf enthusiasts at the same time knowing that their participation helps the less fortunate”.
