The Alpha Phi Omega alumni of Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan came home last month to celebrate their 50th anniversary since their recognition as a campus student organization in 1969.

The highlight of the celebration was the turnover of their jubilee project to Xavier Ateneo – the donation of 10 43” Samsung Full HD televisions intended for student services.

The donation was received recently by XU VP for mission and ministry Irene Grace Guitarte, director of student affairs Ivanell R Subrabas, and alumni affairs director Dr. Virginia Lourdes Yacapin.

In return, the group received a token of appreciation from Xavier Ateneo president Fr. Roberto Yap, SJ for their jubilee project, following a reception at the Magis canteen.

Sixty-five alumni joined the jubilee homecoming and shared many stories about their activities as a campus student organization, such as doing regular clean-up drives, installation of garbage bins, and installation of wall clocks in classrooms. (xu comm)
