The Northern Minda-nao based caused oriented group Anakbayan, lambasted the pronouncement made by Department of Education 10 (Deped 10) Regional Director Allan Farnazo that the region is ready for the big reform in the country’s educational system.

Anakbayan-NMR spokesperson Jade Mark Etucas cited the statement of Farnazo as absurd. (See related story on page 8)

Etucas in a press statement sent on yesterday claimed that until now many classrooms are yet to be completed.

The group name four schools in Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental and Iligan City that classes were held outdoors due to lack of classrooms.

These schools include Senior High School (SHS) students in Lugait national High School is only one of the many who suffer by having their classes outdoor or in covered courts.

Etucas claimed that the in Cagayan de Oro, Puerto National High School in Barangay Puerto scenarios include different sections or grade levels have to cramp in one classroom just to vacate other classrooms for the SHS students and chairs are inadequate that students have to remain standing or sit on the floor in Carmen National High School in barangay Carmen.

“These scenarios only manifest unpreparedness and ineffectiveness of K-12 to solve the current education crisis,” he said.
