ONE of the two suspects who robbed a female jeepney passenger last Sunday evening, this week at Ysalina bridge, was arrested in a buy-bust operation the following day by authorities.

Police Col. Aaron Mandia, Cagayan de Oro City Police Office chief, identified the suspect as Raymund Aguilar alias ‘Insik,’ 31, single, and a resident of Sitio Tambo, Barangay Carmen, this city.

The suspect was arrested by a joint operation led by Police Maj. Mario Mantala, Jr. police station 4 commander; and Police Lt. Lorenzo Ocon, Jr., Deputy station chief; City Intelligence Unit, and City Mobile Force Company at Zone 7, Acacia Extension of the same barangay at 6 pm.

Confiscated from the suspect were two small and big sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu with an estimated street value of P54,400.00; P500 buy-bust money, a .38 caliber revolver with live bullets in its chamber, two bladed weapons, and several personal belongings.

Police said that during the arrest the suspect resisted and fought back against the arresting officer resulting in the suspect sustaining bruises to his body.

The suspect is currently put under the custodial facility of Police Station 4 for documentation and proper disposition.

Mandia lauded the relentless efforts exerted by his men on its intensive Anti-criminality campaign.

At 10 pm last Sunday, a certain 28-year-old Jenny Pacaldo was held up by two suspects armed with bladed weapons.

The culprits then took her two mobile phones and cash all amounted to P36,000.
